Srinagar, July 18 (NVI):- Two terrorists were killed today near the Line of Control (LoC) in Kupwara district of Kashmir as the Indian Army foiled second infiltration attempt in the same sector in 5 days.
The terrorists were killed in a fierce gunfight after being detected and intercepted by the alert personnel of Indian Army, officials said.
The killed terrorists and their affiliation are yet to be identified.
An official said there was a specific input about the infiltration attempt, following the operation was launched to neutralise it.
“An infiltration attempt has been successfully prevented with the elimination of two terrorists today on the LoC in Keran sector,” the Army posted on the social media, calling it ‘Op Rajbir, Keran’.
It said the anti-infiltration operations are continuing.
This is the second infiltration attempt that has been neutralised by the Indian Army in the Keran Sector since July 14.
On that day, 3 terrorists were killed and a large cache of arms and ammunition was recovered from them.
The recoveries included 3 AK-47 rifles, 4 pistols, and six hand grenades.
Additionally, Pakistani-marked cigarettes and food items were also found.
With today’s incident, it has become clearer that Pakistan is desperate to disturb peace in Jammu and Kashmir.
