Srinagar: While Pakistan’s ISI engineered an increase in the targeted terror killings in Kashmir in the recent months, security forces stepped up their operations, which resulted in the elimination of 100 terrorists in less than five and a half months.
Last year, during the same period, the tally of terrorists killed was 50, while the 100-mark was achieved in August, according to the police statistics.
Kashmir Zone Inspector General of Police Vijay Kumar, while giving details of anti-terror operations in the Valley this year, said 29 foreigners were among the 100 terrorists killed during various encounters in Kashmir so far.
“100 terrorists (71 local & 29 foreign) killed in different encounters in 5 months & 12 days this year in 2022,” said a tweet by Kashmir Zone police, quoting Kumar.
“50 terrorists (49 local & 01 foreign) were killed last year in 2021 in the same duration,” it added.
Kumar said Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) suffered the maximum damage, losing 63 terrorists while Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) lost 24 terrorists during this year.
