New Delhi (NVI): Minister of State for Defence Shripad Yesso Naik visited the Southern Command Headquarters in Pune on November 5, where he was briefed on the operational preparedness of one of the largest commands of Indian Army.
The Minister complimented the Southern Command for its professionalism and dedication towards duty while safeguarding the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the nation, an official statement said.
He also congratulated the formation for its outstanding support and positive response in providing assistance to the civil administration in overcoming various disasters and challenges in peninsular India.
The Southern Command is spread over 11 states and four Union Territories including an island territory. It has the responsibility of safeguarding 1,240 km long International Border and 7,516 km of coastline.
