Baloch diaspora protest in Germany, UK and Netherlands against latest Pakistani brutality

Baloch diaspora hold protest in The Netherlands against Pakistani atrocities in Balochistan

Berlin, Mar 24 (NVI) The latest episode of Pakistani State brutality on peaceful protesters in Balochistan has found a strong echo in Germany, United Kingdom and The Netherlands where the Baloch diaspora staged demonstrations to highlight the issue.

Protesters, under the banner of Baloch National Movement (BNM), carried placards and banners with images of the victims of the oppression by the Pakistani government forces, including some top Baloch activists like Dr Mahrang Baloch who have been detained illegally at some undisclosed place by the State authorities since last three days.

Mahrang Baloch, along with Bebagr Baloch and other activists, was whisked away on the early morning of March 22 by the Pakistani government forces when they were protesting in Quetta against the killing of three innocent protesters, including a 12-year-old boy, in police firing a day earlier in Shaal.

The protest in Shaal was organised to demand early release of leaders of Baloch Students Organisation (BSO-Azad) Zahid Baloch and Asad Baloch, who were illegally picked up by the State forces 11 years ago and whose whereabouts remain unknown.

Speakers at the protests in Germany, UK and The Netherlands condemned the Pakistani Army’s daily killings of innocent Baloch civilians and stated that enforced disappearances have engulfed the entire region.

Among the disappeared are prominent intellectuals, students, scientists, professors, and human rights activists who played a crucial role in Balochistan’s political and academic progress, they highlighted.

“BNM calls on the international community and global institutions to intervene and support the Baloch nations’ right to freedom, ensuring the liberation of Balochistan,” said the spokesman of the organisation. (NVI)

Balochistan: Pakistani forces’ brutality on display, top leader Mahrang Baloch & several others detained

Scene of protest shutdown in Turbat in Balochistan today

Quetta, Mar 22 (NVI) Pakistani forces used brutality to end a peaceful sit-in early this morning in Quetta, seizing bodies of three protesters killed in police action yesterday and detaining several protesters, including Balochistan’s top human rights activist Mahrang Baloch.

It prompted a total shutdown of businesses and suspension of traffic across Balochistan during the day even as condemnations of the action by the Pakistani forces poured in from various parts of the world.

During the shutdown, protest marches and demonstrations were held at various places in Balochistan.

At least 3 persons, including a minor boy, were killed and dozens injured in firing and teargas shelling by the Pakistani forces yesterday on a peaceful protest held by the kin of those abducted by the government forces and secret agencies.

Towards the evening yesterday, the protesters, under the flag of Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC), headed by Mahrang Baloch, assembled again for a sit-in at Quetta’s Sariab area, with the bodies of the three slain youth being on display.

They were demanding action against those personnel of the forces who killed the three youth yesterday.

The Pakistani forces, in a pre-dawn attack, raided the protesters, forcibly seizing the bodies of three slain protesters and detaining Mahrang Baloch along with several others.

Their whereabouts remained unknown till tonight.

Eyewitnesses said Pakistani forces used excessive force against peaceful protesters.

The BYC, in a statement, said the police and Pakistani agencies carried out a violent raid on the sit-in at around 5:30 AM Saturday.

“Quetta police and the administration have arrested Dr. Mahrang Baloch, along with her companions, and forcibly taken possession of the bodies of our martyred youth,”
the BYC said.

“Women and children present at the protest site were also subjected to violence,” it said.

Condemning the action by the State as an “act of terrorism,” the BYC demanded the immediate release of all detained activists and the return of the seized bodies.

The actions by the Pakistani government agencies were condemned across the world.

Mary Lawlor, UN Special Rapporteur HRDs, in a social media post, said she was “very concerned” by reports that Dr Mahrang Baloch and a number of others had been arrested in Balochistan following a crackdown on Baloch Yakjehti Committee protesters in Quetta.

PEN Norway, a prominent international human rights organisation based in Norway, also expressed deep concern “for the wellbeing” of Mahrang Baloch after her arrest.

Noting that she had been “kept incommunicado since” her detention, it asked the Government of Pakistan to “immediately provide her with access to legal counsel & unconditionally release her.”

Michael Arizanti, a Journalist and Human Rights defender, said he was “deeply alarmed and outraged by the detention” of Mahrang Baloch. (NVI)

Peshawar, Mar 22 (NVI) Under its ‘Operation Al-Khandaq’, Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has been targeting the Pakistani military and police in an extensive and sustained manner, killing and injuring several security personnel besides destroying their assets and installations on a daily basis.

In its latest statement, it gave details of the operations it carried out over the last two days in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab Provinces of Pakistan.

A police officer Hashim was killed in a targetted attack by the TTP in Nasr Khel village of  Laki Marwat district yesterday, it said, adding his gun was also taken by it.

Prior to that, the TTP cadres attacked Lakhani check post in Dera Ghazi Khan district of South Punjab Province during the intervening night of March 20 and 21, it said.

The operation continued for one and a half hours and there is a strong possibility that two officials were killed, said the TTP statement issued by its spokesman Muhammad Khorasani.

The Taliban also attacked a post of Pakistan Army in Banshahi area of Jindol district of Dir Lower on the evening of March 20, in which one officer was injured, he said.

We have no presence in India, Afghanistan or anywhere else: BLA

Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) Chief Commander Basheer Zeb with fighters of the group. File Pic.

Quetta, Mar 20 (NVI) Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) “makes it clear in no uncertain terms that we have no presence in Afghanistan, India or any other country”, the outfit has said while slamming the Pakistani military for its “fake propaganda” about it getting external support.

At the same time, it said in a statement that “Balochs and Afghans share ties of blood, culture and history that were not established by any external power and cannot be broken.”

The outfit, fighting for independence of Balochistan from Pakistan, said “BLA has become an invincible force on the strength of its own land, people and public support….The Pakistani State institutions, especially its propaganda arm ISPR, always try to blame external forces for their own failures.”

The BLA issued the statement in the aftermath of its recent unprecedented operations of Jaffar Express hijack and military convoy attack in Balochistan in which it claimed to have killed 354 Pakistani soldiers and injured over 100.

“The mercenaries and colonial forces of the Pakistan army can never compete with freedom fighters who embody the highest levels of consciousness and sacrifice,” said the statement issued by BLA spokesman Jeeyand Baloch to NVI.

“Pakistan Army is a mercenary force, a continuation of the British imperialist Army, that occupied this region. Its personnel do not fight for ideology but for a salary,” he said.

That is the reason, he said, that the Pakistan Army personnel “can never match the spirit, courage and resilience of the freedom fighters who are ready to make every sacrifice for the liberation of their motherland.”

On allegations by the Pakistani military that BLA receives support from Afghanistan and India, the spokesman said, “This is the same outdated accusation that Pakistan has always levelled against every resistance to its State terrorism.”

He said Pakistan’s state institutions, especially its “propaganda arm ISPR, as always, are trying to blame external factors for their failures and are making the tired claim that BLA is backed by Afghanistan or India.”

He added that “Contrary to enemy propaganda, BLA is neither comprised of mercenaries nor beholden to foreign states. Our struggle is a manifestation of the aspirations of the Baloch people.

“The fact is that Baloch resistance is a manifestation of the collective strength of the Baloch nation, which does not need any external help.”

He said, “Pakistan’s claim that BLA is supported by Afghanistan is, in fact, a blatant attempt to deny the historical existence of the Afghan-Baloch relationship. But, Pakistan has forgotten that historical facts cannot be erased by its propaganda.”

Jeeyand Baloch said, “The relationship between Afghanistan and the Baloch nation is not a new reality but a historical, cultural and geographical one spanning thousands of years.

“The brotherly bond between Afghans and Balochs is not the result of a sudden political interest, but a living reality passed down through generations.”

The spokesman asserted that BLA “operates on its own soil, organizes among its own people and has evolved into an invincible national military force, thanks to the unwavering participation of Baloch youth.”

He said, “Our movement grows through the sacrifices of Baloch youth and our strength emanates from the unwavering trust of the Baloch people.”

On Pakistan’s charge that Afghanistan is a centre of terrorism, the BLA spokesman said, “If there is a hub of terrorism, it is not Afghanistan, rather it is Pakistan. This is the state where the worst terrorist groups in the world roam freely.”

He said Pakistan is a country where “ISIS, Jaish-e-Mohammad, Lashkar-e-Taiba and dozens of other terrorist organizations are not only born but also nurtured under state patronage to spread terror across the world.”

He went on to add, “Pakistan is the world’s largest state sponsor of terrorism with documented evidence of its crimes in the UN, USA, EU and most independent media.”

On Pakistani ISPR’s claims that “the rules of war have changed”, the BLA spokesman said, “We are fully prepared to accept these changing rules with a smile and respond to the occupying army in its own language.”

At the same time, he said, “the truth is these rules have not been changed by the Pakistani army but by the BLA. BLA has proven that a professional, disciplined and national military force adhering to the principles of international warfare has now emerged on Baloch soil. This force will counter every tactic of the enemy and is preparing for the final battle.” (NVI)

BLA advice to ‘mothers’ of Pakistani Punjab: Don’t send your children to Balochistan to die

Representative image of Baloch Liberation Army (BLA).

Quetta, Mar 19 (NVI) “Do not let your children become fuel for the Generals of the Pakistan Army”. “Do not send them to die in Balochistan”.

These are the messages sent out by Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) to the “mothers of Punjab” Province of Pakistan after carrying out two massive attacks – Jaffar Express hijack and suicide blast on military convoy — in which it claimed to have killed 354 soldiers and injured over 100.

“You are not our enemy but if your children participate in the Baloch genocide, you will only see their bodies,” said BLA in a statement to the people of Pakistani Punjab.

“Our struggle is not driven by hatred but by love for our people and this love is the highest form of humanity…. Our struggle is not based on aggression but on the defence of the motherland,” said the outfit which is fighting militarily for independence of Balochistan from Pakistan.

Asserting that it fights solely for national defence, the BLA said it is fighting a war “imposed” on Balochistan by Pakistan “through military aggression and occupation”.

It said, “If the people of Punjab do not want bloodshed, they must rise against this murderous army and demand accountability for the blood of their children.”

Slamming the Pakistani military, the BLA said it shamelessly hides the death of soldiers who fight and give their lives for the Generals.

“You (people of Punjab) will be shocked to know that the Pakistani Army feels no pride but only shame over the death of your children. That is why Pakistan hides the bodies of its personnel,” said the statement issued by BLA spokesman Jeeyand Baloch.

Referring to the attacks on the Jaffar Express train in Bolan district and security convoy in Noshki district within a week, he said the Pakistan Army, “after suffering disastrous losses”, is “resorting to lies, deceit and propaganda to cover up its historic defeat”.

Describing the Pakistan Army as a “mercenary” force, the BLA spokesman said it hides its dead, burying them in unmarked graves so that the people do not learn the truth about its defeats and weaknesses.

On the other hand, “The entire leadership of the BLA and every soldier is always ready for martyrdom. We honor our martyrs with profound pride and dignity, immortalizing their sacrifices through national remembrance in history.” (NVI)

Balochistan: BLA says 354 Pakistani soldiers were killed in Jaffar Express and convoy attacks

Jaffar Express, which was hijacked by BLA, in Bolan in Balochistan.

Quetta, March 19 (NVI) Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) has claimed to have killed 354 Pakistani soldiers and injured over 100 in the twin-attacks – Jaffar Express hijack and suicide blast on security convoy – in Bolan and Noshki districts of Balochistan, respectively and asserted that these demonstrated the prowess the freedom-seeking militant outfit has acquired.

In its latest statement, the BLA said the twin operations of March 11 and March 16 constituted the Second Phase of its ‘Operation Dara-e-Bolan’, whose First Phase was carried out in February last year when the Mach city of Balochistan was captured for over 100 hours by the fighters of the outfit.

“Baloch Liberation Army today announces the successful conclusion of ‘Operation Dara-e-Bolan’ on March 18.

“This operation consisted of two parts, the first phase of which was completed in February 2024 with the capture of Mach city while the second phase began with the attack on the Jaffar Express in March 2025 and was completed after a week of intense battle,” said the statement issued by BLA spokesman Jeeyand Baloch to NVI.

“In this operation, the occupying Pakistani army suffered the biggest defeat in its history in Balochistan, where more than 354 personnel were eliminated over 100 were wounded and 214 personnel were taken hostage,” he added.

He noted that “due to the enemy’s stubbornness and refusal to exchange prisoners of war, all the (214) hostages were executed.”

The BLA spokesman underlined that all those (264) killed in the Jaffar Express operation were Pakistani military personnel, with their identities properly established, and all the civilian passengers of the train were released voluntarily by the outfit’s fighters without any harm.

“During this operation, 13 BLA freedom fighters embraced martyrdom including six Fidayeen from the Majeed Brigade, four fighters from the Fateh Squad and three fighters from STOS,” he said.

“These martyrs, by sacrificing their lives, made it clear to the enemy that the Baloch national resistance is invincible, and that the occupying army will have to retreat from the Baloch motherland sooner or later,” the spokesman asserted.

Among these martyrs was Sangat Beg Muhammad alias Tariq who was awarded the war title of “Sagaar-e-Baloch” by BLA in recognition of his exceptional battle services, he said, adding this is the second-highest war honour of the organization.

“The operation (Phase 2 of Dara-e-Bolan) began with an attack on the Jaffar Express on March 11 where BLA freedom fighters dealt a crushing blow to the enemy, eliminating over 30 Army, Frontier Corps and police personnel and capturing 214 military personnel,” Jeeyand Baloch said.

Revealing details of the Pakistani security personnel who were held hostage, the spokesman said 45 were from the 41st Division of the Army, 56 from the 17th Azad Kashmir Regiment, 47 from the EME Centre, 15 from the 25th Baloch Regiment, 26 from the 6th Armoured Regiment and 25 from the Infantry School.

“As per the laws of BLA and international rules of war, all these personnel were presented before the Baloch National Resistance Court where they were sentenced to death based on irrefutable evidence of their involvement in Baloch genocide, enforced disappearances and war crimes,” he said.

Underlining that BLA always respects international laws of war and human rights principles, he said accordingly, instead of immediately implementing the court decision against these prisoners, the outfit offered the occupying army a proposal for exchange of prisoners of war.

Despite being fully aware of the enemy’s breach of promises, cunning nature and deceit, a 48-hour ultimatum was given, he recalled.

“Half of the arrested (military) personnel were confined in the bogies of the Jaffar Express and handed over to the Fidayeen of the Majeed Brigade who were given clear instructions that if the enemy (Pakistan) made any military advances, the hostages should be executed and the attacking military commandos should be eliminated,” the spokesman disclosed.

“As expected, the enemy, drunk with power, took the path of aggression and instead of releasing the prisoners of war, launched a military operation. However, only five Fidayeen of the Majeed Brigade eliminated several highly-trained Zarrar Company SSG commandos of the Pakistani army for two days,” he said.

“After eliminating dozens of enemy personnel, when their last stock of bullets ran out, they (5 BLA fighters) embraced martyrdom with their last bullets, making it clear to the enemy that the Baloch resistance would continue under any circumstances,” the spokesman said.

Meanwhile, special units of BLA the Fateh Squad and STOS were able to divide the remaining prisoners of war into two groups and shift them to safe camps in the mountains, he said.

“But when the occupying army chose military aggression over negotiations and attempted to attack BLA positions, the prisoners of war were sentenced to death as per the decision of the Baloch National Resistance Court, following instructions from the Senior Command Council,” Jeeyand Baloch said.

“The entire responsibility for this decision lies with the Pakistani army which despite having an opportunity they chose to pursue a path of war madness instead of releasing its personnel,” he said.

Fierce clashes with the occupying forces continued until March 17, in which the enemy suffered irreparable casualties and was ultimately forced to retreat from Bolan, he said.

“In these clashes, seven freedom fighters were martyred while vigorously defending the areas under the control of the BLA,” the spokesman said, adding “They sacrificed their lives to inflict severe damage on the enemy’s fighting force and delivered a humiliating defeat on the Balochistan front.”

Having engaged the enemy in Bolan, BLA launched another decisive attack in Noshki district, he said.

On March 16, “demonstrating its military prowess, combat skills and intelligence superiority, Baloch Liberation Army targeted a convoy of 8 Pakistani army buses in Noshki using a VBIED (Vehicle-Borne IED) Fidayeen attack,” he said.

The convoy was carrying Pakistani Army personnel who were returning to their units after vacation and it was attacked by the Majeed Brigade, the spokesman said.

“Due to the explosion, the enemy personnel fell unconscious, allowing the BLA’s Fateh Squad to ambush and neutralize all the personnel in the second bus one by one. After this, the remaining six buses were ambushed by the freedom fighters,” he said.

A total of 90 military personnel travelling the convoy were killed and over 50 were left wounded, Jeeyand Baloch said.

“Thus, in just one-week BLA eliminated over 354 enemy personnel and wounded more than 100 while also shooting down a drone reflecting the success of the Baloch resistance force against the enemy’s modern military technology,” he added.

The inside intelligence provided by the BLA’s intelligence wing “ZIRAB,” played an important role in this entire operation. After thoroughly analyzing the enemy’s movements, military plans and strategy, BLA took timely action which resulted in a complete shift in the balance of the battle and inflicted heavy losses on the occupying army.  (NVI)
