New Delhi (NVI): Delhi government has imposed a night curfew in the national capital, which will be enforced from 10pm to 5am, with immediate effect.
The restriction will stay in effect till April 30.
However, essential services and emergency movement of vehicles will be allowed like in previous rounds of night curfew.
The announcement comes at a time when Delhi has been reporting about 3,500 infections for the past two days with a positivity rate of above 5 percent.
Earlier on Friday, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had said that Delhi was going through the fourth wave of COVID-19 but a lockdown was not being considered yet.
Maharashtra, among the worst affected states, has already imposed a night curfew to contain the spread of the virus.
