New Delhi (NVI): The Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) today announced that a night curfew is imposed in Delhi on December 31 and January 1, to avoid spread of new coronavirus strain during the New Year celebrations.
According to the DDMA order, the curfew in Delhi will be placed between 11 pm of December 31 to 6 am of January 1 and 11 pm of January 1, 2021, to 6 am of January 2.
“Not more than five people will be allowed at a public places and no new year celebrations events or gatherings will be permitted post 11 pm,” the DDMA said.
There will be, however, no restrictions on the interstate and intrastate movement of persons and goods during the night curfew.
Furthermore, the authority has also directed all District Magistrates of Delhi and their counterpart District Deputy Commissioners of Police and all authorities to ensure strict compliance with this order.
Earlier, the states of Punjab, Maharashtra, Karnataka, and Rajasthan has also imposed night curfew to curb the spread of the coronavirus.
