New Delhi (NVI): Ahead of the opening of the Kartarpur Corridor to mark the 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Devji, Pakistan government has issued a commemorative coin on the founder of Sikhism.

According to Pakistan daily ‘Dawn’, “Prime Minister Imran Khan on Wednesday announced that the government has issued a commemorative coin to mark 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the founder of Sikh religion”.

According to the daily, PTI Senator Faisal Javed in a statement said the Kartarpur project was a gift of Prime Minister Khan for the Sikh community. He said the PM along with the people of Pakistan would welcome their Sikh guests on Nov 9.

On October 24, India and Pakistan signed a path-breaking and historic agreement to operationalise Kartarpur Sahib Corridor that will facilitate Indian pilgrims to visit Gurudwara Darbar Sahib in Pakistan.

With the signing of this Agreement, a formal framework has been laid down for operationalisation of the Kartarpur Sahib Corridor. The corridor will be completed by October 31, a week before the celebrations to mark the 550th Birth Anniversary of Guru Nanak Devji.
