PM Modi extends greetings to Imran Khan on Pakistan Day

New Delhi (NVI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi has extended greetings to Imran Khan on the occasion of Pakistan National Day, saying “India desires cordial relations with the people of Pakistan” and for which “an environment of trust devoid of terror and hostility is imperative”.

“Excellency, at this time difficult time for humanity, I would like to convey my best wishes to you and the people of Pakistan for dealing with the challenges of the Covid-29 pandemic,” PM Modi wrote in his letter to Imran Khan.

Pakistan celebrates March 23 as its national day every year.

Earlier on Saturday, PM Modi had wished his Pakistani counterpart a speedy recovery from the novel coronavirus after Khan had tested COVID-19 positive, two days after receiving his first dose of the Chinese Covid vaccine ‘Sinovac’.

PM’s letter to Imran also comes after India and Pakistan’s announcement ceasefire agreement along the Line of Control (LoC) and all other sectors recently.
