Srinagar, April 29 (NVI): Rainfall activity is set to affect Jammu and Kashmir from April 29, with generally cloudy skies and spells of light rain and thundershowers expected in several areas, officials said.

The weather system is likely to intensify during the afternoon and evening hours, bringing thunderstorms, gusty winds, and the possibility of localized hailstorms. These conditions may disrupt outdoor activities and pose a risk to standing crops.

Farmers have been advised to suspend agricultural operations during this period to prevent potential losses, particularly due to strong winds and hail that could damage orchards and fields.

Intermittent rainfall is expected to continue at scattered places over the next few days, indicating a prolonged phase of unsettled weather across parts of the region.

A brief dry spell may follow, although isolated light rain cannot be ruled out, suggesting that complete weather stability is unlikely in the immediate term.(NVI)
