Rainfall expected in parts of North India today

New Delhi (NVI): Parts of Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan and Haryana are likely to receive light to moderate rainfall with thunderstorms over the next few hours today, the India Meteorological Department said.

Scattered heatwave conditions are also likely over Rajasthan, south Punjab, south Haryana and Vidarbha, it said.

“Thunderstorm with light to moderate intensity rain would occur over isolated places of  South-west Delhi, Rampur, Aligarh, Atrauli, Khair, Hathras, Jalesar, Iglas, Sikandra-Rao, Jattari, Gabhana, Pahasu (U.P), Jind, Meham, Bhiwani, Nuh, Tizara, Manesar, Sohna (Haryana), Kotputli, Alwar (Rajasthan) during the next 2 hour,” the IMD tweeted

Thunderstorm with light to moderate intensity rain and gusty winds with speed of 40-60 Km/h would occur over and adjoining areas of Amroha, Moradabad, Rampur, Bilari, Sambhal, Milak, Chandausi and Nazibabad (U.P) during next 2 hour.

Sakoti-tanda, Hastinapur, Kandhla, Khataoli, Bijnor, Nazibabad, Gangoh(U.P) and Roorkee (U.K)  during next 2 hour. Light to moderate intensity rain would occur over isolated places of Narnaul, Adampur (Haryana), Kotputli, Viratnagar (Rajasthan) during the next 2 hour, the IMD said.

Squally Weather (40-50 kmph) is very likely over Northwest and Northeast Arabian

Sea, Southwest and Westcentral Arabian Sea; Comorin, Lakshadweep areas; south SriLanka coast, along/off Kerala coast.

Hence, fishermen advised to not to venture into the sea.

Thunderstorm with lightning and gusty winds (speed reaching 40-50 kmph) are also very likely at isolated places over West Madhya Pradesh today, according to the IMD.

Heavy rainfall at isolated places very likely over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim, Assam & Meghalaya, Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam and Kerala & Mahe, it said.
