Jammu: Investigators have got crucial information regarding the Reasi terror attack case with the arrest of a man who provided local support and guidance to the 3 Pakistani terrorists involved in the heinous incident of June 9.
The arrested terrorist associate has been identified as Hakam Din, a resident of Bandhrahi village in Rajouri district, which is adjacent to the Reasi district, in Jammu division of Jammu and Kashmir.
As already conveyed to you by us through this channel, there were 3 Pakistani terrorists who waylaid the bus full of Hindu pilgrims in Pouni area of Reasi district and one of them attacked the vehicle from the front side.
The firing had resulted in death of the driver and subsequently the bus lost control and fell into a gorge.
At least 9 people travelling the bus were killed and over 40 injured.
They were mostly pilgrims from Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Delhi, moving from Shiv Khori, after paying obeisance at a famous temple there, to Katra.
Interrogation of Hakam Din has unveiled that the three Pakistani terrorists had freshly infiltrated and stayed at his house for a day before the attack and he had played a good host.
On the fateful day, it was he who took the terrorists to the spot where they attacked the bus.
He took the terrorists through forests to ensure they are not caught by an CCTV.
The spot for the attack was chosen by the terrorists, who clearly had knowledge about the road being used by Hindu pilgrims.
During the attack at Pouni, Hakam Din was present in the area and after the incident, he again ensured safe evacuation of the terrorists.
The terrorists paid him Rs 6,000 for the help he provided.
In fact, the terrorists had stayed at his place twice earlier too.
Hakam Din is being interrogated to ascertain how he got in touch with the terrorists and whether he has links with terrorist commanders based in Pakistan or Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
The terrorists, who carried out the Reasi attack, are at large and a massive hunt is underway to nab them or neutralise them.
Meanwhile, security has been stepped up on the road between Shiv Khori and Katra and people are advised to undertake the pilgrimage as they did before, according to the police.
