Srinagar, July 18 (NVI) The Jayanti (birthday) of Revered saint of Kashmir, Bagwan Gopi Nath Ji was celebrated with great enthusiasm at the Kharyar, Habba Kadal, Gopi Nath Ji Ashram, drawing a large gathering of the Kashmiri Pandit community.
Devotees came together to honor the revered saint through a series of spiritual rituals and prayers, underscoring the cultural significance of the event within the community.
Born as Gopi Nath Bhan, also called Bhagwan Gopinath Ji, was a mystic saint of early 20th century Kashmir. Bhagwan Gopinath was born in a Kashmiri Hindu family of Bhan’s, in a locality called Bhan Mohalla, in the city of Srinagar in Kashmir, on Friday 3 July 1898, which corresponds to Ashad, Shuklapaksh, Dvadashi. He left this mortal world on 28th May 1968.
Participants engaged in traditional ceremonies, including recitations and offerings, creating an atmosphere of devotion and unity.
Devotees also participated in Bhajan & Kirtan at the Kharyar ashram.
The celebrations not only highlighted the rich spiritual heritage of the Kashmiri Pandits but also reinforced the community’s commitment to preserving their traditions in contemporary times.
Celebrations were also held at Bagwan Gopi Nath Ji Ashram at Jammu, New Delhi, Ghaziabad, Bangalore, Pune, Hyderabad and other different locations across India. (News Vibes of India)
