Srinagar, Jun 29 (NVI): A rusted hand grenade was found during the cleaning of a canal in the Sangrama area of Sopore in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Monday and was later destroyed safely, officials said.
The grenade was noticed during the canal cleaning operation and was taken into police custody, the officials said.
They said the Bomb Disposal Squad was alerted immediately and destroyed the explosive following standard safety procedures.
No loss of life or damage to property was reported in the incident, officials added.—(NVI)
