Srinagar, Apr 24 (NVI): In a stepped-up offensive against drug trafficking under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, Srinagar Police on Friday deployed its Narcotic Dog Squad across multiple locations in the district to intensify enforcement.

Officials said trained sniffer dogs have been positioned at key checkpoints to detect concealed narcotics and assist in the swift identification and apprehension of drug peddlers, significantly boosting on-the-spot detection capabilities.

The move is part of a broader strategy to dismantle drug supply networks and create a strong deterrent against narcotics-related activities. Police said awareness campaigns are also being carried out alongside enforcement drives to sensitise the public about the dangers of drug abuse.

Reaffirming its commitment to a drug-free society, Srinagar Police urged citizens to cooperate and share any actionable information to help curb the menace.
