New Delhi (NVI): The third batch of three Rafale jets landed at an Indian Air Force base late this evening, after a non-stop flight from Istres air base in France, in more air power to the IAF.

The jets received mid-air refueling by UAE MRTT, for which the IAF thanked the UAE Air Force in a tweet.

“The third batch of three Rafale aircraft landed at an IAF base a short while ago. They flew over 7000Km with in-flight refuelling. The aircraft got airborne earlier in the day from #IstresAirBase in France. IAF deeply appreciates the tanker support provided by UAE Air Force,” the IAF tweeted.

Earlier in the day, the Indian Embassy in France tweeted that the three jets had taken off from France for a non stop flight to India with mid air refueling by UAE MRTT.

“Three more #Rafale jets take off from 🇫🇷 for a non stop flight to 🇮🇳 with mid air refueling by UAE MRTT; Adding more strength to 🇮🇳’s air power. Wishing our amazing pilots smooth flight&safe landing with superb fighter jets,” the Indian Embassy said in a tweet.

With this three more Rafale jets are expected in March, and seven more in April. The first batch of five Rafales arrived in India on July 28 and was officially inducted in September at Ambala Air Base in Haryana on September 10.
