Peshawar: Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) today said its cadres have been instructed to carry on eliminating Pakistani security forces and arresting them till further notice.
The TTP said this in a statement while maintaining that it has “never backed out from or refused to take part in meaningful negotiations” with the Pakistani establishment.
Contending that “taking part in such negotiations is an intrinsic part of our (TTP) policy,” it said, “We’ve made sincere efforts in this regard in the past.
“But, after (General) Asim Munir’s rise to power (becoming Army Chief) and his rather non-serious attitude towards negotiations, Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan has adopted a strict no-negotiation policy and issued instructions to the Mujahideen to intensify and fan the flames of war.”
Asserting that negotiations, at present, aren’t possible, the TTP said, “The (Pakistani) military, in a bid to bolster the morale of its soldiers, is propagating baseless allegations, claiming that TTP’s offer for negotiations has been rejected.”
The TTP said its “last and final invitation to negotiations was sent under the auspices of the mediation of Qatar but it was met with an extremely non-serious attitude from the military.”
It declared that no more invitations would be sent in the future.
