DRDO set to reopen Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel Covid Hospital tomorrow

New Delhi (NVI): The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) is set to reopen its Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Covid Hospital tomorrow amid surge in coronavirus cases in the country.

The facility near Delhi airport was shut in the first week of February after daily Covid-19 cases came down.

The 1,000-bed DRDO medical facility is set to reopen with 500 ICU beds to provide treatment to patients.

According to information, the hospital will start taking patients from Monday as 250 beds will be ready by then and remaining will be ready in another few days.

Medical team of Directorate General Armed Force Medical Services (DGAFMS) has arrived in Delhi. There will be two doctors from CAPFs also. Major General Bhatia will be commanding.

This time all the facilities are same as last time but with some improvements as all beds will be available with oxygen, large number ventilators will be available in the hospital with zero charges.

The hospital will be well equipped with basic testing facilities, air-conditioning as per WHO standards and if Neuro or cardiac case, then patient will be referred to Aiims.
