Peshawar, July 2 (NVI) Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has claimed to have killed at least 220 Pakistani soldiers, police personnel and intelligence agents and injured 320 such personnel in 307 operations during the month of June.
These actions against the Pakistani security services were carried out under ‘Operation Al-Khandaq’ of the TTP, which started in March this year.
Among the killed and injured, 282 were from the Pakistan Army and Special Services Group (SSG), 135 were from the paramilitary Frontier Corps (FC), 111 were from the Police and Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) and 12 were from the Secret agencies (Security Committees), said a statement issued by the TTP.
Giving details, the statement said Chitral saw 72 operations, North Waziristan witnessed 55, South Waziristan Province 53, Khyber 33, DI Khan 12, Bannu 12, Lakki Marwat 11, Kurram 10, Bajaur 10, Tank 6, Deir Payan 6, South Punjab 5, Orakzai 5, Peshawar 4, Swat 3, Zhob 2, Kirk and Shangla 2 each and Swabi, Karachi, Mardan and Mohmand 1 each.
The types of operation included Sniper/Laser Attacks (100), Guerrilla Attacks (127), Ambush Attacks (21), Retaliatory Attacks (17), Targeted Attacks (15), Missile Attacks (12), Grenade/Bomb Blasts (10) and Interceptor Attacks (5), the statement said.
These operations led to the damage of one military depot, 6 military structures, 28 military vehicles of various types, 50 CCTV Cameras, 3 Drone Cameras, 3 Dish Antennas, 2 Solar Systems, 2 Tanks and 2 Military Water Systems.
The TTP seized a large quantity of military hardware from 4 Kalashnikovs, 2 G3 guns, 2 rocket launchers, 2 drones, 2 vehicles, 2 trucks, 1 security camera, 1 binocular and hundreds of rounds of bullets and other military equipment, the statement said. (NVI)
