Srinagar, Sep 21 (NVI) :The Jammu and Kashmir government has released over Rs 3.21 crore in relief to families affected by flash floods and landslides in Rajouri constituency and prepared a proposal worth Rs 185 crore for permanent restoration of damaged roads and bridges, the Legislative Assembly was informed on Monday.
The government said 149 family-wise relief cases related to the natural disasters had been received in the constituency, with Rs 40.61 lakh disbursed to affected families under the prescribed State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF) norms.
An additional Rs 2.81 crore was released from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund for affected families and distributed according to approved norms, it said.
On infrastructure damage, the government said a preliminary assessment had identified damage to roads and bridges, and a proposal for permanent restoration of 403 roads and bridges had been prepared at an estimated cost of Rs 185 crore.
The Power Development Department assessed damage of Rs 2,799.16 lakh to electrical infrastructure across Rajouri district, including Rs 939.24 lakh in the Rajouri Assembly constituency.
Temporary restoration of power supply was carried out, while permanent restoration of the 132-KV Rajouri-Draba transmission line is under the tendering process, the government said.
It further informed the House that damaged roads, bridges, water-supply systems and power schemes were temporarily restored within a month, while detailed project reports for their permanent restoration are under consideration.
The government placed the details in response to a query in the ongoing autumn session of the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly.—(NVI)
