Kishtwar, Aug 21 (NVI): A 14-year-old schoolgirl died while being shifted from Kishtwar to Doda for medical treatment related to termination of pregnancy, officials said on Friday.
The minor, a resident of Chatroo area of Kishtwar district, was reportedly pregnant and a school teacher has been arrested in connection with the case, they said.
According to officials, the girl was being referred to Doda for further medical treatment when she died while being shifted.
Police have registered an FIR and arrested the teacher allegedly linked to the case, a police official said.
The official said further investigation is underway to ascertain the circumstances leading to the pregnancy and the death of the minor.(NVI)
