Police registers case after women allege assault by Shopkeeper in Srinagar

Srinagar, Nov 11(NVI) : Police in Srinagar have registered a case after a woman and her mother were allegedly assaulted by Shopkeeper in Nowhata area of Central Kashmir Srinagar district on Monday.

An official said that Srinagar police have registered an FIR after a woman and her mother were allegedly assaulted by a shopkeeper in the Nowhatta area this evening

He said that Police have registered a case under  relevant sections of the law, and have initiated an investigation.—(News Vibes of India)

Gurez-Bandipora Road Closed Due to Snow Accumulation

Srinagar, Nov 11(NVI) :The Gurez-Bandipora road has been closed for all traffic movements following snow accumulation in the region.

An official told NVI that the area received approximately 3 inches of snow, with ongoing snowfall expected to add to the total accumulations following which road was closed for all kinds of traffic.

He said that the area has witnessed snowfall along with strong winds due to which travelling on the road is very dangerous.

He added that after the snowfall stops, efforts will be made to restore traffic on the road.—(News Vibes of India)

Light Rain & Snow Likely in J&K from 15-16 Nov

Srinagar, Nov 11 ( NVI) :- The Meteorological Centre Srinagar has predicted light rains/snows in many areas of J&K on 15 and 16 November.

An official of the MET said that there is a possibility of light rain or light snowfall, especially in the higher reaches of the region on 11th November.

He said from 12th to 14th November, the weather is expected to remain generally dry across most parts of Jammu and Kashmir.

From 15th to 16th November, light rain or light snowfall might occur in the higher reaches, particularly in the northern and some central parts of Kashmir.

He said that from 17th to 23rd November, the weather is forecasted to be dry throughout this period, with no significant weather changes expected.

J&K is not expected to witness any significant weather activity until at least the 23rd of November, officials

Farmers have been advised to ensure the safe storage of harvested crops to prevent damage due to unexpected weather changes. Other farm-related activities should also be planned accordingly.

Residents, particularly in the plains of Jammu and Kashmir, should be cautious of mist or shallow to moderate fog during the early morning and late evening hours, which may affect visibility, official added.—(News Vibes of India)

Upper Reaches of Gurez Valley of Kashmir Bathed in Fresh Snowfall

Bandipora, Nov 11 (NVI): -The scenic Gurez Valley in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district was adorned with a fresh blanket of snow on Monday morning. The upper reaches of the valley, including Kilshay Top, Tulail, and nearby villages, witnessed fresh snowfall.

This fresh snowfall aligns with the weather forecast issued by the Meteorological (MET) department. A weak Western Disturbance is currently impacting Jammu and Kashmir, bringing light rain and snowfall to various parts of the Union Territory. The impact is expected to continue until the early hours of November 12.

The MET department has issued a weather advisory, predicting heavy to very heavy snowfall over the higher reaches of the Kashmir division, including the Gurez Valley, over the next three days. Additionally, the Kashmir plains may experience light rain showers on November 11.

Other areas anticipated to receive snowfall include Razdan Top, Sinthan Top, Peer Ki Gali, Phase 2 of Gulmarg, and the higher reaches of Pahalgam and Sonamarg.—(News Vibes of India)

Srinagar, Nov11(NVI): Mother and her two children died in a devastating fire incident at Kishtwar district of Jammu division.

An official told NVI that during night fire broke out in Bhugrana Saroor Kishtwar at the residence of Mr. Khursheed Ahmed in Badhat Jashar Drabshalla.

He said that the fire, which broke out in one of the rooms, claimed the lives of his wife and two children, who were trapped inside.

Local authorities responded to the scene, but unfortunately, the blaze had already taken a devastating toll.

Investigations are underway to determine the cause of the fire, official said.

They have been identified as Nazia Begum wife of khursheed Ahmed, seven year old daughter Amana and four year old son Rizan.

Police have taken cognizance of the incident and started an investigation.                      (News Vibes of India)

CRPF Jawan dies by suicide in Srinagar

Srinagar, Nov 10 (NVI) : A Central Reserve of Police Force(CRPF) personnel on Sunday allegedly died by suicide in Shivpora area of Central Kashmir Srinagar district.

Officials told NVI that that the CRPF jawan (name withheld) from Tripura state who was posted for 61 Battalion shot himself dead with his service rifle.

They said that police have taken cognizance of the incident.—(News Vibes of India)

Police Head constable dies in Kupwara road accident

Srinagar, Nov 10(NVI):A policeman died after his car met with an accident near the Sadhna Top area of Kupwara district on Sunday.

An official told NVI that a cop was traveling from Police Post Taad, Karnah, towards Kupwara in an Alto car bearing registration number JK09B 2325, when it met with an accident and head constable died on spot.

He has been identified as Gh Rasool, a resident of Chanjmulla handwara.

Meanwhile, police have taken cognizance and started investigation. (News Vibes of India)

SDM Ramnagar Sub Division orders ban on use of Mobile Phones in Schools

Udhampur, Nov10(NVI) : Sub divisional magistrate Ramnagar, Rajinder Singh Rana has ordered ban on the use of mobile phones in schools in Ramnagar sub division.

“Whereas, during random inspection of schools, some students and even teachers have been found using their mobile phones in the class rooms during school timing,” reads the circular of SDM Ramnagar, a copy of which lies with NVI.

“Whereas, some students have also been caught by the undersigned watching prohibited/ banned websites on their mobile phones in the class rooms,” it reads.

“Whereas, it has also been reported by prominent people of this Sub Division that use of mobile phones in schools has led to distractions, Increased risk of cyberbullying and potential disruption of the school discipline, all of which have negative impact on academic achievement,” it states further.

“Therefore, considering the need to maintain discipline and to ensure the safety and well-being of students, the teachers as well as students shall not use mobile phones in the school premises and for any emergency, official phone of head of institution/school can be used.” Circular reads.—(News Vibes of India)

Kishtwar Encounter : Solider killed, three others injured

Srinagar, Nov 10 (NVI) : A soldier was killed while three others were injured in an ongoing encounter in Kishwan area of Kisthwar district on Sunday.

An official told NVI that Rakesh Kumar of 2 Para Special Forces was killed in action during an encounter in Kishtwar.

He said that three other soldiers were injured in the operation and are said to be in stable condition.

He further added that two VDGs involved in the killing of two VDG a few days before are believed to be trapped in the area and operation is going on.

Kishtwar, Nov 10 (NVI) :- At least Two Army personnel sustained injuries during the initial exchange of gunfire in the Kishwan area of Kishtwar district on Sunday.

Officials told NVI that operation was launched following intelligence inputs regarding the presence of terrorists in the region.

They said that injured soldiers were evacuated and have been shifted to a medical facility for treatment where there condition is said to be stable.

Search operation has been launched in the whole area to nab the terrorists, they said.

“Brief exchange of fire has taken place during search operation between terrorists and security forces in the general area of Keshwan of Kishtwar Police station. Search operation is going on.” Said police in a post on ‘X’.—(News Vibes of India)
