Shaal (Balochistan): Continuing its oppression, occupying Pakistani military killed 14 ordinary Baloch people in fake encounters and illegally detained at least 38 others, including 20 students, in the month of October, according to Baloch National Movement (BNM).
All those killed in the fake encounters had been illegally picked up by the occupying forces earlier as part of their notorious ‘enforced disappearances’ programme, BNM said.
In its monthly report, the Human Rights department of the BNM said that in October, the Pakistan army forcibly disappeared 38 Baloch people, including 20 students.
After severe mental and physical torture, 18 people were released, it said.
Regarding the 14 Baloch people killed in fake encounters, it said they had been previously abducted by Pakistan Army and cases were registered with Human rights organizations.
In Kharan and Mastung, 10 victims of enforced disappearances were killed in fake encounters by the so-called Counter Terrorism Department (CTD), it said, giving details.
Last month, in the area of Notal-Naseerabad, a victim of enforced disappearances was killed in a fake encounter.
Giving details of those forcibly disappeared by the Pakistani military, the report said they included 2 from Shaal, 4 from Hub Chowki, 10 from Turbat, 3 from Karachi (Sindh), 2 from Sibi, 1 from Lasbela, 1 from Awaran, 1 from Shikaarpur (Sindh), 2 from Nushkey , 1 from Nowshera Feroz (Sindh), 7 from Kharan, 2 from Khuzdar and 2 persons from District Kalat.
The report states that when the relatives of the missing persons staged a sit-in in front of the Chief Minister’s House and the Governor’s House, a high-level government delegation led by the Pakistani Interior Minister came and negotiated with the relatives and convinced them that no one would be killed in fake encounters.
But despite their promises the detainees were targeted in fake encounters, it said, adding this clearly shows that Pakistan’s Parliament and its members are totally helpless in front of their powerful military.
“The unending selective genocide and massacre of Baloch people continues unabated,” the report noted.
