People from Pakistan-occupied J&K Gilgit-Baltistan stage protest in London, demand freedom from Pakistan

London: A large number of activists from Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan staged a protest in front of Pakistan High Commission here and demanded freedom

Gathering under the banner of National Equality Party JKGBL, the activists highlighted how the Pakistani regime is committing extreme atrocities and oppression against the local people of the occupied territories of Jammu and Kashmir.

The protest was actually convened in memory of Arif Shahid who was killed by Pakistani agencies on 13 May 2013.

Arif Shahid had raised his voice against Pakistani occupation of POJK, Pakistani oppression, violations of human rights of the people of POJK and Gilgit Baltistan and demanded freedom of the state of Jammu & Kashmir from Pakistan and that’s the reason he was killed by Pakistani agencies.

National Equality Party JKGBL activists and supporters demanded arrest of his killers and end to the oppression, violation of basic human, political and economic rights of the people of POJK and Gilgit Baltistan.

The participants declared that their aim is to get POJK and Gilgit Baltistan liberated from Pakistan to reunify the state of Jammu and Kashmir.

Party supporter and activists made speeches and vowed to carry on the mission for the freedom of the state of Jammu & Kashmir from Pakistan.

National Equality Party (NEP) GKJBL Chairman Prof. Sajjad Raja, the party’s UK Zone President Muhammad Azeem, its Chief Organiser for UK Zone Raja Mujammed Mumtaz Khan, and other leaders and activists who spoke on the occasion expressed grave concern over the extremely bad human rights situation in Pakistani occupied Jammu Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan.

The speakers described how state subjects are being oppressed and denied of their basic rights.

They demanded freedom of the state of Jammu & Kashmir from Pakistani occupation.

The chanted slogans like: “Justice for Arif Shahid”, “Arrest the killers of Arif Shahid”, “This struggle is for the freedom”, “Pakistani forces out! out!”, “Stop exploiting our resources!”, “We want freedom (from Pakistani occupation)”.

The speakers also vowed to support the independence movements of the people of Balochistan, Sindhudesh and Pakhtunistan and announced to support them at all levels.
