Safety of Every Tourist Our Priority: LG Manoj Sinha Monitors Gulmarg Gondola Rescue

Srinagar, May 25 (NVI): Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Monday said he is personally monitoring the rescue operation launched after a technical snag halted the Gulmarg Gondola service, leaving several tourists stranded in cable car cabins.

According to officials, joint teams of Police, Army and SDRF were pressed into service after the malfunction affected the cable car system at the famous tourist destination of Gulmarg Gondola in north Kashmir.

In a post on X, the Lieutenant Governor said he had directed Director General of Police Nalin Prabhat to immediately reach the site and oversee the rescue operation.

“Ensuring the safety of every tourist is our top priority,” the LG said, adding that district administration officials, including the Deputy Commissioner and Senior Superintendent of Police, were coordinating the evacuation efforts on the ground.

Officials said rescue teams were working to safely evacuate all stranded passengers and restore the service at the earliest.(NVI)
