Srinagar, Jul 8 (NVI): An unidentified body was recovered near the site of an ongoing anti-terror operation in the Chanapora area of Jammu and Kashmir’s Shopian district on Wednesday, officials said.
Officials said fresh gunshots were heard from the area during the operation, following which security forces carried out a search and recovered the body.
The identity of the deceased is yet to be established, they said, adding that some arms and ammunition were also spotted near the site from a distance.
The anti-terror operation was launched four days ago by security forces following specific intelligence inputs about the presence of terrorists in the area.
The operation is still in progress and further details are awaited, officials added.(NVI)
