Security forces target house where militants were hiding in Handwara area of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district late last evening. Defence spokesperson in Srinagar, Colonel Rajesh Kalia told NVI that a joint operation was launched by Army and Police on the basis of an intelligence input that militants had taken some civilians as hostages at a house in Changimul. Two Army officers including a Colonel and a Major, two soldiers, and a J&K Police sub-inspector were killed in the encounter.
