Two Held With Arms, LeT Posters in Srinagar

Srinagar, May 12 (NVI): Two persons were arrested during a naka checking operation in the Babadem area of Srinagar and arms, ammunition along with Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) posters were recovered from their possession, police said on Tuesday.

A senior police officer said the duo was intercepted by police while travelling on a black-coloured Hero Splendor motorcycle during routine checking in the M.R. Gunj area of the city.

The arrested persons were identified as Faisal Ahmad Bhat, a resident of Malpora Habbakadal, and Faisal Ahmad Guroo, a resident of Kadi Kadal Rajouri Kadal in Srinagar.

During the search, police recovered a pistol, three magazines, 21 live rounds, two mobile phones and 10 LeT posters from their possession, officials said.

A case under relevant sections of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) and Arms Act has been registered at Police Station M.R. Gunj and investigation has been initiated, they added.
