Srinagar, May 25 (NVI): Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Monday said the situation at the Gulmarg Gondola is fully under control after the cable car service was temporarily suspended due to a technical fault.
According to officials, rescue operations are underway to evacuate tourists stranded in the gondola cabins after the service developed a snag earlier in the day.
In a post on X, the Chief Minister’s Office said the government was closely monitoring the situation and trained rescue teams had been deployed on the ground.
“All cabins remain intact and rescue operations to safely evacuate stranded tourists are underway with trained teams on the ground,” the post said.
The Chief Minister’s Office also appealed to the public not to panic, asserting that the situation was under control.(NVI)
