9 injured as CISF bus skids off road in J-K’s Reasi

Jammu, Jun 28 (NVI): Nine persons, including eight CISF personnel and a civilian driver, were injured after a Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) bus skidded off the road in Jammu and Kashmir’s Reasi district on Sunday, officials said.

The accident took place near Tarakote when the bus of the 572 CISF Company, carrying security personnel, reportedly lost control and skidded off the road, they said.

The injured were identified as Head Constables Sammy Kumar, M M Dubey and A Ramesh; Constables P K Traya, B D Singh, B Srinu and Pratyush; Sub-Inspector Shiv Charan Meena; and the driver, Virender Singh.

Officials said Head Constables Sammy Kumar and M M Dubey, along with Constable P K Traya, were referred to Narayana Hospital after receiving initial treatment at Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu.

The condition of the remaining injured is stated to be stable and they are undergoing treatment, officials said.

Police have registered the case and initiated an investigation to ascertain the cause of the accident, they added.(NVI)
