New Delhi, Sep 21 (NVI) The Indian Army and Assam Rifles conducted joint training on counter-Improvised Explosive Device (IED) operations to enhance preparedness against evolving explosive threats, the Eastern Command said on Monday.
The training was conducted by the Counter Explosive Device Unit of the Eastern Command for Army personnel along with Assam Rifles troops.
The Training of Trainers (ToT) course focused on enhancing expertise in detecting, disrupting and neutralising IED threats, besides strengthening threat awareness, search procedures, counter-IED drills and coordinated response mechanisms, it said.
The exercise was aimed at fostering greater synergy and jointmanship between the participating forces and enhancing their operational preparedness to deal with IED-related threats, according to the command.
The training underscored the forces’ commitment to strengthening capabilities and maintaining readiness against emerging security challenges, it added.—(NVI)
