Army personnel injured in accidental firing during search operation in Rajouri

Rajouri, June 4 (NVI): An Army personnel was injured after accidentally sustaining a firearm injury during a cordon and search operation in a forest area of Rajouri district, officials said on Thursday.

The incident took place during the Dorimal forest area of Thanamandi under the jurisdiction of Manjakote police station, where security forces were conducting a search operation, they said.

The injured soldier was suffered a gunshot wound to his right foot in the accidental firing incident, officials said.

He was immediately evacuated to the Army’s 150 General Hospital in Rajouri for treatment.

The soldier is undergoing medical treatment and his condition is stated to be stable, officials added.(NVI)
