Kashmir: Oil tanker falls into Jhelum river, driver dies (Update)

Srinagar, July 05 (NVI):- An oil tanker fell into the river Jhelum in Wangipora, Sumbal, in North Kashmir’s Bandipora, resulting in the death of its driver, officials said.

The tanker skidded off the road near wangipora checkpost and fell into river Jhelum along with the driver, the officials told News Vibes of India (NVI).

The vehice was on its way from srinagar towards Sumbal.

The driver of the vehicle was missing after the incident & searches were launched to find him, they said.

The body of the driver was found this evening and it was shifted to CHC Sumbal for medico-legal formalities.

The deceased driver has been identified as Jitendher singh of Bharakh in Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir.

Police have taken cognizance and started investigation. (NVI)
