New Delhi, May 15 (NVI): The National Testing Agency (NTA) on Friday announced that the re-examination for NEET-UG 2026 will be held on June 21 following approval from the Government of India amid the ongoing controversy surrounding alleged paper leak and examination irregularities.

According to an official statement issued by the NTA, the agency said, “NEET (UG) 2026 – Examination Date Announced. The National Testing Agency, with the approval of the Government of India, has scheduled the re-examination of NEET (UG) 2026 on Sunday, June 21, 2026.”

The agency urged candidates and parents to rely only on official communication channels for updates and avoid misinformation circulating on social media.

The decision comes amid widespread protests and legal proceedings over allegations of question paper leaks and irregularities in the conduct of the highly competitive medical entrance examination. Several candidates had approached courts seeking cancellation of the exam and a fair probe into the matter.

The controversy triggered concern among students and parents across the country, raising questions over examination security and transparency.

NEET-UG is conducted annually for admission to MBBS, BDS and other undergraduate medical courses across India and is attended by lakhs of aspirants every year.

Meanwhile, the NTA reiterated its appeal to students not to believe rumours and to follow only official announcements issued by the agency.(NVI)
