IHRO, BSF Organises Half Marathon at Bandipora

New Delhi, Nov 03(NVI): The International Human Rights Organization (IHRO) and Border Security Force (BSF) organized a half marathon at Vintage Park near Wular Lake in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district, focusing on unity, health, and environmental awareness.

The marathon featured three categories: 5 km, 10 km, and 21 km, with age groups for 18-30 and 40, along with separate categories for men and women.

Ashok Yadav, IPS, Inspector General of BSF, served as the Chief Guest, joined by MLA Bandipore, Nizzamuddin Bhat. Dr. Nem Singh Premi, Chairman of IHRO, spoke on the importance of human rights and environmental protection.

Bollywood actress and IHRO Ambassador Moubano Sorcar inspired participants with her presence.

Altaf Bhat, coordinator for Kashmir IHRO, and Yaqub Dunoo, head of Tourism and IHRO Kashmir, played key roles in organizing the event.

The marathon aimed to promote fitness, unity, and environmental awareness while fostering community engagement and social responsibility.

The collaboration between IHRO and BSF contributed to the success of this initiative.

Srinagar, Nov03(NVI): The Lieutenant Governor, Shri Manoj Sinha spoke to DGP, Nalin Prabhat and senior officials of the security agencies on grenade attack in Srinagar.

He directed the security officials for an effective and forceful response to punish the terrorists and their associates. The Lieutenant Governor reaffirmed the government’s resolve not to allow terrorist elements to succeed in their nefarious designs.

“Terrorists targeting our citizens will have to pay a very heavy price for their actions. You have full freedom to crush terror outfits and leave no stone unturned to complete this mission,” the Lieutenant Governor told the senior security officials.

The Lieutenant Governor wished speedy recovery of those injured and directed that district administration should extend all possible assistance.—(News Vibes of India)

BJP LP Meet : LoP, Dy Speaker elected, Aims for Constructive Opposition in Upcoming Assembly

Srinagar, Nov 03 (NVI): The BJP elected Sunil Sharma, General Secretary and MLA from Kishtwar, as the Leader of Opposition (LoP), while Dr Narinder Singh, MLA from Jammu-South, was chosen as the party’s candidate for Deputy Speaker for J&K assembly.

The decision was taken during a meeting by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) held a Legislative Party Meeting at Church Lane, Sonwar, Srinagar.

The meeting as per the statement was presided over by Union Minister for New and Renewable Energy, Prahlad Joshi, and BJP National General Secretary Tarun Chugh, who oversees the Jammu, Kashmir, and Ladakh regions.

“Key party figures present included Co-Incharge for Jammu and Kashmir, Ashish Sood, BJP UT President Sat Sharma, Member of Parliament Jugal Kishore Sharma, former Deputy Chief Minister Kavinder Gupta, former BJP President Ravinder Raina, along with 28 BJP Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs) and other core members of the BJP leadership,” reads the statement.

Addressing the attendees, Union Minister Prahlad Joshi emphasized the importance of unity in the party’s objectives.

BJP National General Secretary Tarun Chugh highlighted the significance of the upcoming sessions for Jammu and Kashmir.

Prahlad Joshi said the Legislative Party members have unanimously elected Sunil Sharma as the Leader of the Opposition for the Kashmir Assembly. “We are committed to addressing public issues and contributing to the vision of a Viksit Bharat under the leadership of PM Shri Narendra Modi,” he said.(News Vibes of India)

Srinagar, Nov 03 (NVI): The Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir, VK Birdi on Sunday visited the injured civilians at a city hospital following a grenade blast at the Sunday Market in Srinagar.

The explosion near the TRC injured at least eleven people, all of whom are in stable condition.

An official said that the IGP wished the victims a swift recovery and assured that action would be taken against those responsible for the attack.

Today, a grenade explosion at Srinagar’s busy Sunday Market left  at least eleven people injured. Security forces have launched a search operation to apprehend the attackers.—(News Vibes of India)

No Justification for Targeting Innocent Civilians : Omar Abdullah

Srinagar, Nov03(NVI): Chief Minister Omar Abdullah condemned the grenade attack on shoppers at the Sunday market in Srinagar on Sunday that left many injured and urged the security forces to take measures to stop the increase in attacks,

Abdullah said that there is no justification for targeting innocent civilians. He called on the security forces to take immediate action to curb the rise in violence.

“The last few days have been dominated by headlines of attacks & encounters in parts of the valley. Today’s news of a grenade attack on innocent shoppers at the ‘Sunday market’ in Srinagar is deeply disturbing,” the CM said in a post on X

“There can be no justification for targeting innocent civilians. The security apparatus must do everything possible to end this spurt of attacks at the earliest so that people can go about their lives without any fear,” he said. (News Vibes of India)

Six Civilians Injured in a Grenade Attack in Srinagar

Srinagar, Nov03(NVI): Six civilians were injured when Terrorists threw a grenade in a busy Sunday market in the TRC area of central Kashmir’s Srinagar district.

According to official sources, the terrorists targeted a security forces vehicle, but the grenade missed its mark, resulting in civilian injuries.

The injured have been taken to the hospital, and additional reinforcements have arrived at the scene to investigate the incident. (News Vibes of India)

Foreign Terrorist Killed in Srinagar Encounter : IGP Kashmir

Srinagar, Nov 02 (NVI): Inspector General of Police Kashmir Zone V K Birdi on Saturday said that foreign terrorist was killed in Srinagar Encounter.

Speaking to News Vibes of India-(NVI), IGP said that the security forces received intelligence about suspected terrorist movement in the Khanyar locality.

“J&K Police and CRPF’s Valley QRT received information about terrorist movement in Khanyar,” Birdi said. Acting on this tip-off, forces quickly cordoned off the area and began their search. “As the security personnel neared the suspected house, they came under gunfire,” he added.

IGP said that the slain terrorist has been identified as Usman Laskari, a member of the banned terror group Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), who was reportedly active in the region for a long period.

Alongside his body, a substantial cache of arms, ammunition, and explosives was recovered, IGP said adding that the terrorist was involved in previous attacks, including the recent killing of Inspector Masroor wani.

He said that the security forces have been highly responsible in thwarting terrorist plans in the Valley.

Srinagar operation exemplifies the commitment of security agencies to prevent further incidents and ensure safety in J&K, IGP added.      (News Vibes of India)
