CM Omar Abdullah in J&K Assembly today

NVI Correspondent

Srinagar, Nov 04(NVI): Referring to PDP MLA Waheed Para, who introduced a resolution on Article 370 on the first day of the J&K Assembly, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah stated that a single MLA’s private resolution holds no significance.

He acknowledged that most people in Jammu and Kashmir have not supported the changes made in 2019 and afterward. During a disruption in the assembly, Speaker Abdul Rahim Rather adjourned the House for 15 minutes.

The adjournment occurred amid a disturbance over PDP MLA Waheedur Rehman Para’s resolution opposing the revocation of Jammu and Kashmir’s special status and Article 370 by Parliament in 2019.

The BJP opposed the resolution, calling it “against rule.” Abdullah noted that all members would have the opportunity to present their resolutions after the Lieutenant Governor’s address.

The resolution by Para and the subsequent opposition from the BJP led to a significant uproar in the first session of the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly.                                    (News Vibes of India)

Srinagar, Nov04(NVI): PDP MLA Waheed Para introduced a resolution in assembly opposing abrogation of Article 370, calls for restoration of special status to J-K

“I have a resolution on behalf of my party that I want to submit before you. The resolution calls for the restoration of Article 370,” Parra said on very first day in the assembly. However the BJP MLAs strongly opposed the move and asked speaker to bin the resolution.

“This House opposes the revocation of special status of J&K and constitutional disempowerment of Jammu & Kashmir through the J&K Reorganisation Act, 2019, and calls for its complete rescinding.

House further resolves to strive for restoration of special status and all constitutional guarantees granted to Jammu & Kashmir in their original, pristine form,” the resolution said.

The House met after a gap of more than six years, with the last session held in early 2018, a year before the reorganization of Jammu and Kashmir into two union territories.        (News Vibes of India)
