New Delhi, Sep 4 (NVI): Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Friday met Union Home Minister Amit Shah here and discussed a range of issues concerning the Union Territory, including restoration of statehood, reservation rationalisation and finalisation of the Transaction of Business Rules.
During the meeting, Abdullah also apprised Shah of the arrangements for the first International Film Festival of Jammu and Kashmir (IFFJK), which is scheduled to begin in Srinagar on September 7.
The two leaders also discussed matters relating to public welfare and development in Jammu and Kashmir.
Abdullah thanked the Union Home Minister for the timely assistance and support extended to Jammu and Kashmir in the wake of flood-related damage reported from several areas.
Restoration of statehood has been a key demand of the Omar Abdullah-led Jammu and Kashmir government.—(NVI)
