Opposing Special Status Resolution of J&K is Milking cow for BJP to fetch Political Gains : Tariq Karra

File Photo : MLA & J&K Congress President Tariq H Karra

NVI Correspondent

Srinagar, Nov 06(NVI): Jammu and Kashmir Congress President Tariq Hameed Karra criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), for opposing resolution of restoration of article 370 alleging that the abrogation of Article 370 has become a tool for the party to gain political leverage rather than address genuine developmental needs in the region.

Talking to reporters Karra accused the BJP of using the issue as a “milking cow” to win votes, without actually improving the conditions in Jammu and Kashmir or fostering real progress.

He argued that this approach primarily serves the BJP’s political agenda, while the people in the region continue to face challenges related to security, development, and regional autonomy.

“Elections for J&K Legislative Assembly held here after a very long time. We should keep the aspiration and will of people in mind. The way BJP opposed the resolution is highly unacceptable for us,” Karra said.

He said J&K was part of federal India, but this structure was withdrawn in recent past and we want it to be restored along with all guarantees.

He said that resolution had sought constitutional guarantees including protection of land and job and dialogue with people of J&K and there is nothing wrong in it.

He said that the resolution seeks restoration of the federal structure of J&K which was snatched unilaterally, arbitrarily, unconstitutionally, and undemocratically from us and it must be restored at an earliest.  (News Vibes of India)

Resolution passed in Assembly has no constitutional validity : LoP Sunil Sharma

BJP MLA & LoP Sunil Sharma

NVI Correspondent

Srinagar, Nov06 (NVI): Senior BJP leader and Leader of Opposition (LoP) in the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly, Sunil Sharma, stated on Wednesday that the resolution passed today supporting Article 370 lacks any constitutional standing, as the Assembly cannot contest a decision made by the Parliament and upheld by the Supreme Court of India.

In a press conference Sharma criticized the timing and purpose of the resolution, which was introduced during a session scheduled to address key issues from the Lieutenant Governor’s speech.

“Today, we were supposed to discuss the government’s promises of 200 free electricity units, 12 gas cylinders, and the creation of one lakh jobs. Instead, a resolution challenging a decision already sanctioned by Parliament and endorsed by the Supreme Court was tabled,” Sharma said.

Sharma said that resolution is constitutionally invalid and questioned the Congress party’s stance on the matter, urging its leadership, including Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge, to clarify their position.

“If Congress is not in support of this resolution, it cannot be passed based on the backing of a minority in the house,” he asserted.

Sharma further declared that the BJP would not permit the Assembly proceedings to continue unless the resolution is rescinded.

Notably, a resolution for the restoration of special status of J&K was passed in J&K assembly on Wednesday.   (News Vibes of India)
