Bandipora Encounter : Foreign Terrorist Killed, Arms & ammunition recovered

Srinagar, Nov 06(NVI) : One Foreign terrorist was killed, and arms & ammunition were recovered during an encounter between security forces and terrorists in the Ketsun Forest area Bandipora district which started on Tuesday evening.

A top police officer told NVI that one foreign terrorist had been killed, and  One M4 rifle, two grenades were recovered from the encounter site. Two security personnel were also injured during encounter in Ketun forest area.

The incident began when a joint team of security forces intensified searches around a suspected location, leading to an exchange of gunfire.

Srinagar,Nov06(NVI): The third day of the Jammu and Kashmir assembly witnessed huge protests and sloganeering by the opposition over passing of the resolution for restoration of Article 370 by the National Conference.

At the start of the proceedings amidst disturbance, the assembly had passed the resolution on restoring the special status to the erstwhile State. Deputy CM Surinder Choudhary had moved the resolution on the restoration of special status guaranteed under Article 370 to J&K, which sparked sharp reactions from the opposition. The BJP legislators jumped into the well of the house raising slogans against the move and terming it as anti national and a Pakistani agenda.

When speaker Abdur Rahim Rather put the resolution to vote, it was passed with the majority of legislators supporting it.

Notably the resolution was also supported by non-coalition partners. The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Engineer Rasheed’s Awami Ittehad Party (AIP), two Independent legislators Sheikh Khurshid and Shabir Kullay and J&K Peoples Conference chief Sajad Lone supported the resolution.

Earlier the speaker Abdur Rahim Rather, temporarily adjourned the assembly for one hour. The speaker repeatedly requested the BJP lawmakers to take their seats to begin the discussion on the Lieutenant Governor’s address, but the members continued their protest.

All 27 BJP legislators stayed in the well of the house, refusing to return to their seats despite the Speaker’s appeals. As the furore continued the speaker adjourned the house till tomorrow.  (News Vibes of India)

Speaker Adjourns House Proceedings for One Hour as BJP Protests Article 370 Resolution

Srinagar, Nov 06 (NVI): Speaker Abdul Rahim Rather, on Wednesday, temporarily adjourned the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly for an hour as BJP legislators protested against a resolution to restore Article 370.

“The Speaker repeatedly requested the BJP lawmakers to take their seats to begin the discussion on the Lieutenant Governor’s address, but the members continued their protest.

All BJP legislators stayed in the Well of the House, declining to return to their seats despite the Speaker’s appeals. “Please return to your seats so we can proceed with discussions,” the Speaker urged, but the protests persisted, leading to the one-hour adjournment.

Pertainly, the resolution to restore Article 370 was earlier introduced by National Conference leader and Deputy Speaker Surinder Choudhary, passing with majority support.

Notably, the motion was backed by independent members Shabir Kullay and Sheikh Khursheed, three PDP legislators Waheedur Rehman Para, Mir Fayaz Ahmed, and Rafiq Ahmed, as well as Peoples Conference leader Sajad Lone. Congress legislators, however, opted to remain seated without casting votes.

It is worth mentioning, BJP leaders strongly condemned the resolution, accusing the National Conference of promoting what they described as anti-national and pro-Pakistan narratives within the Legislative Assembly.(News Vibes of India)

Srinagar, Nov 6(NVI): In the Jammu and Kashmir assembly today, Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Singh Choudhary brought forward a resolution for restoration of the special status of J&K.

The resolution demanding the restoration of J-K’s special status and constitutional guarantees, which safeguarded the identity, culture, and rights of people of Jammu and Kashmir, was seconded by Sakina Masood of the National conference.

Sajjad Lone, PDP legislators and two Independent MLA’s supported the move which was later passed by a voice vote.

BJP’s Sunil Sharma opposed the resolution saying it was not part of business.

“Pakistani agenda nahin chalega ‘ and National conference sharm karo” shouted the BJP legislators while protesting against the move in the well of the house.

Amid uproar, the house was adjourned for 15 minutes.(News Vibes of India)

Kupwara, Nov 06(NVI) : An unidentified Terrorist has been killed in an ongoing encounter between security forces and Terrorists in the Lolab forest area of North Kashmir Kupwara district on Wednesday morning.

A top police officer told NVI that one terrioist has been killed by security forces in Lolab Kupwara, whose identity is yet to be ascertained.

As the joint team of forces intensified searches towards the suspected spot, the hiding terrorists fired upon the forces triggering off a gunfight.

Encounter broke out in Lolab North Kashmir

Srinagar, Nov06 (NVI) : An encounter broke out between terrorists and security forces in Lolab forest area of North Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Tuesday late night.

A top cop of police told NVI said that a joint team of security forces launched a cordon and search operation on specific information about the presence of terrorists in the area.

He said that as the joint teams approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding terrorists fired upon them which was retaliated to, triggering an encounter.

Two to three terrorists are believed to be trapped in the area.

Those aiding terrorists won’t be spared: J&K Lt Governor

Srinagar, Nov 05 (NVI) : Against the backdrop of resurgence in terror acts, Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha today declared that the terrorists and those aiding and sheltering them will face the consequences as part of the determined campaign to wipe out the scourge.

“We will not spare terrorists and those aiding and abetting them in targeting people. We will bring them to justice,” he said, addresssing a programme.

Hinting at the role of Pakistan, Sinha said, “there are some people who are trying to foment trouble here. If our neighbour tries to create problems here, we are not too worried by it. But, if at its behest, some people here try to create trouble, it is the duty of not only the administration and security forces to identify such people but common people too should stand up,” Sinha said.

“I feel if the security forces and the common public join hands, terrorism will not last more than a year,” the LG said.

He said some 40,000-50,000 people have lost their lives due to terrorism and the administration will not tolerate the acts of terror.

Asserting that terrorism will be crushed with a heavy hand, he said his direction to the forces was : “Don’t touch the innocent but don’t spare the culprit.”

He said irrespective of what anyone may say, “It is justice and it will continue to be delivered in the same way.”

The LG’s comments came against the backdrop of resurgence in the acts of terror over the past several weeks, with the latest incident being witnessed two days back when terrorists hurled a grenade in an audacious manner at the Sunday Market in a prime location of Srinagar, injuring 12 people.

The Lieutenant Governor reiterated the commitment of the government to empower the youth of J&K and provide them necessary opportunities and facilities to unlock their potential for a better tomorrow. He assured the talented youth that their empowerment is amongst foremost priorities of the government.

“Our youth as fearless force of creativity and torch-bearers of positive change are building a bright and vibrant J&K. Under the leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, efforts have been made to fulfil the hopes, aspirations and dreams of the youth of Jammu Kashmir,” the Lt Governor said.

Emphasising the significant role of the younger generation in nation building, the Lt Governor called upon the youth to work with team spirit while following the ideals and values of the founding fathers of the country for peace and progress of J&K.

“The combined power of the youth ignited by desire and determination to carve a new destiny for the society will be the most powerful strength in the journey of ‘Viksit Bharat’ and a joyous, peaceful, prosperous Jammu Kashmir,” he said.

Sharing key reforms and initiatives of the Government in the past few years, the Lt Governor highlighted the need to channelise the energy of the youth towards achieving the common goal of development and peace.

When the energy of the youth and their dynamic actions are channelised for development, cultural and social activities, then they not only work towards realizing the true potential of the region but also their consciousness, creativity, innovation and their courage impacts various developmental sectors, the Lt Governor said.

The Lt Governor also urged the youth to carry the message of Peace and contribute in counter-radicalization and prevention of drug addiction.

Among the many challenges facing our youth is the challenge of drug addiction. Drug-free J&K is a step to ensure our youth realize their true potential and with the hard work shape their tomorrow, he said.

The Lt Governor commended the Save Youth Save Future foundation for working tirelessly for Youth empowerment. “I am confident the young generation will fulfil the dream of modern J&K and help the society to achieve developmental aspirations,” he said.

During the interactive session, the Young Panelists from diverse backgrounds shared their views on the present scenario and transformational journey of Jammu Kashmir.

Responding to the issues and demands put forth by the youth, civil society members and various sections of society, the Lt Governor assured that appropriate action will be taken to redress the genuine issue projected by them during the interaction.

He further called upon the people to identify and isolate anti-national elements and those disrupting the peace.

Balochistan: BLA says it killed 10 Pakistani soldiers, injured 4 in an attack

Quetta, Nov 5 (NVI): Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) today claimed to have killed 10 personnel of the Pakistan Army and injured 4 while losing two of its fighters in an attack in Balochistan.

In a statement, it said the freedom fighters of BLA ambushed a convoy of the occupying Pakistan army at Qadirabad in Nushki district of Balochistan late last night.

In the intense gunfight, at least 10 personnel of the Pakistan Army were killed on the spot and 4 were injured, said the statement issued by BLA spokesman Jeeyand Baloch.

“Two veteran BLA fighters fought bravely and accepted martyrdom,” he said, identifying them as Adnan Baloch and Yasir Baloch.

The spokesman said Adnan Baloch was injured by an enemy bullet, but he did not leave his position even in that condition and fought the enemy army for more than an hour, giving his unit a safe way to return.

“During this attack on the occupying forces, another BLA veteran comrade, Yasir Baloch, was also injured in a prolonged duel with the enemy and due to excessive blood loss, he attained the great status of martyrdom,” Jeeyand Baloch said.

Adnan alias Safar Khan was a student of International Relations who had joined the Baloch Liberation Army in early 2023, he said.

27-year-old Yasir Baloch Zehri alias Master Safar Khan was a mechanical engineer before he joined the BLA in 2018 and served in the civil and mountain fronts against national slavery, the spokesman said.

He said Yasir Baloch participated in many important battles on the fronts of Bolan, Nagaho and Shorparud (Qalat) and played a prominent role in defeating the enemy army.

CS for Clearing backlog of Ayushman Bharat cases till December

Srinagar, Nov 05 (NVI): Chief Secretary, Atal Dulloo, today impressed upon the Health & Medical Education (H&ME) Department to make strenuous efforts to clear all the backlog cases of Ayushman Bharat, providing free health coverage to the population, before the end of December here.

The meeting, besides Secretary H&ME, was attended by Director SKIMS; Principals of Medical Colleges; CEO State Health Agency (SHA); DG Budget and other concerned officers.

Outstation officers participated in the meeting through video conferencing.
Dulloo took this occasion to emphasise upon the Department to work out an action plan to reimburse the authentic cases especially those of private hospitals to enable them to offer seamless services to public.

He enjoined upon the concerned to rationalise the staff deployed for authentication of cases and their subsequent cross-checking so that the cases from both public and private hospitals are processed at a reasonable pace without facing any undue delays.
While stressing on strict monitoring of the claims to check their genuineness, the Chief Secretary asked for looking into the district wise coverage of NFSA families with that of the Gold Cards issued against the persons in those families.

He also advised the Department to empanel new hospitals that have forayed into operation here in J&K especially those of national repute. He specified that such steps are going to enhance the quality of services besides encouraging other players to join the fray.

While speaking in the meeting, the Secretary H&ME, Dr Syed Abid Rashid Shah, made out that keeping the severity of the patients into consideration the authorization in favour of Dialysis and Onco-Surgeries are being prioritized by the Department.

He also laid out the action plan for speeding-up the approvals of pre-authorizations in a time-bound manner. He reiterated that measures would be taken apace to clear the backlog as the directives issued by the chair.

It was also revealed that during the current policy period starting from 15th of March this year almost 2,65,000 pre-authorizations had been made and 2,51,487 claims submitted for payment.

It was further apprised that in terms of manpower, SHA has increased it to a larger extent and in coming days more medics, accounts personnel are going to be deployed for making the process more seamless and time-bound for the easement of general public.—(News Vibes of India)
